Hi, I’m Andrea Salway, a counselling therapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and over 15 years of experience working with youth and adults in a variety of settings.
My background as a therapist, educator, school counsellor, business owner, and mother of six has shaped both my professional approach and my understanding of the complexities of being human. I bring that perspective to my work with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the many ways we can find ourselves feeling stuck.
I believe the relationship we have with ourselves influences how we experience and navigate the world around us. Our experiences, particularly within relationships, shape how we learn to cope, connect, protect ourselves, and respond to life’s challenges. Sometimes those ways of coping continue to serve us, and sometimes they don’t.
My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and grounded in compassion, curiosity, and honest reflection. Together, we explore what’s happening, make sense of what may be contributing to it, and work toward bringing that understanding into how you navigate your everyday life.
I don’t believe therapy is about fixing people or having all the answers. It’s about creating space to better understand ourselves, work through what we’ve experienced, and develop the awareness and capacity to respond differently.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.
